...this is my favorite quote by my fellow pcv Nora. i think it pretty much sums up almost any situation you find yourself in, here. luckily i got a good sense of humor, otherwise i might go crazy.
for instance, Naima wanted to withdraw some money from her account while here in Dakar. so she walked over to the bank...it's the same bank we have in Benin. they are all over west africa. well, it turns out that because her account is in Benin, she couldn't take out any money, here.
another example. we went to a happy hour last night. it's a bar/restaurant. all the tables/seats at the bar are taken. so we plop ourselves down at a table in the dining area. the waitress gets mad at us and immediately starts taking away the glasses, silverware, and continues to rip off all three layers of tablecloth off the table. rude! why did she have to do that?
and another. well, i can't think of another because there are so many. but i will put some more up, eventually.
